NRI shall identify necessary competencies for employees whose activities impact food safety.
Purpose:
To provide the basic requirements for the position of Dry Production Packer position at NRI.
Scope:
Applies to Production Packers supporting the Bartelt-HMC Packaging production lines.
Responsibilities:
Packs dry powder blends or crisp/cereal products into cartons, or loose bulk, into cases.
Conducts visual inspection of finished product prior to packaging.
Advises operator and supervisors of on-going quality, print label, weight, seal discrepancies.
Removes non-standard products, such as light weights and irregular products, to appropriate rework and waste bins.
Checks/verifies correct code date on pouches.
Assists with packing onto pallets as cases are filled.
Assists with the training of new packaging employees.
Follows NRI Rules and Regulations as described in the Employee Handbook.
Notifies Production Manager of any suspicious personnel or incidents occurring that relate to plant security.
Supports changeovers as required between products.
Fills out all paperwork as required.
Performs quality checks as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Maintains a high level of sanitation and GMP's.
Completes tasks and projects as required by NRI.
Must work overtime as needed.
Assists with packaging on other lines as required.
Capable of packing up to 150 cases per 8-hour shift.
All other duties as assigned Food Safety in Production Areas Notifies Production Manager of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
Observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded (allergen and waste) container policy in the production areas.
Perform all duties necessary to meet NRI, customers and/or government requirements and standards.
Inform Production Manager of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Control the continued processing or delivery of nonconforming until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
In the absence of immediate supervisor, assume necessary operational and administrative duties.
In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level, assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
Organizational Relationships This position reports to the Production Manager.
Internal communications with - Plant Management, Quality Assurance, R&D, Sanitation, Accounting, Procurement, Scheduling, Warehouse.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Must be able to read and speak English Must have basic math skills.
Ability to assess equipment and demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Physical Demands The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Climb up and down ladders, portable stairs, platforms, or skyjack.
The employee must be able to work in close proximity to food manufacturing machinery.
Work Environment.
This is an indoor food processing environment that may have wet floors, humid and/or dusty conditions.
The ambient noise level does not currently require the use of ear plugs, although these are available.
Facility regularly processes known food allergens.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
