Fixed Maintenance

Description

Job Summary:

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors.
  • Makes all types of repairs on all stationary equipment such as crushers, conveyors, vibrators, screens, speed reducers, feeders, and air compressors. Is able to operate this equipment as necessary to perform repairs.
  • Must have cutting/welding experience.
  • Working directly with Crane and Boom trucks.
  • Analyzes sources of trouble (or failures), devises a method of repair, and proceeds with repair work. Suggests changes in design if errors are found on drawings or diagrams.
  • Installs, assembles, and adjusts a variety of bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and pins.
  • Observes all safety rules such as wearing of welding hood, goggles, gloves, rainsuit, helmet, etc.
  • Takes care of tools and work area (i. e. housekeeping is neat).
  • Performs precision fitting where necessary using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operates power or hand tools and electric or gas welding equipment in the performance of job duties.
  • Grinds and sharpens tools such as drills, cutters, etc., to keep them in good repair.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to respond with physical exertion to use tools and materials, and to climb and use rigging to get into position to repair equipment.
  • Willingness to work inside and outside, perform dirty and greasy tasks, in all kinds of weather.
  • Willingness to work overtime, as scheduled, and adjust personal plans accordingly.
  • Eyesight and fine motor skills must permit the performance of work involving close tolerances

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to service all stationary equipment units using only a service /maintenance manual as a guide.
  • Able to operate steam cleaner to clean equipment
  • Able to perform the following welding tasks:
  • Use gas or electrical welding equipment to weld, braze, and cut
  • Weld a firm hold between two pieces of metal in a flat and vertical position.
  • Select rods and determine the weld size for either ferrous or non- ferrous material.
  • Fabricate structural components from instructions on blueprints, as required.
  • Able to lay out repair job jobs from blueprints, as required.
  • Able to install and repair bearings, speed reducers, shafts, pulleys, couplings, sheaves, and belts.
  • Able to repair crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
  • Able to repair water pumps.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
